But guest blogging is not just like writing any other blog. It differs in many aspects. You can check the list of blogs for guest posting for you to start with. Here is a list of 5 DO’s and DONT’s to be considered while guest posting.

DO’s

●      Do establish a relationship

When you write a guest post, you build a link with the host site, which indirectly links you to the targeted audience, since it is them you’re writing a piece for. To enable the host site to accept your posts, you must establish a relationship with them. Let them get familiar with you by commenting on their blog posts or linking to the blog on your own.

●      Do check the relevancy of the post

Whenever you start a piece, make sure it is relevant to them and the audience. People will only find your content worth reading when it has relevance to it, which is obvious and yet is unique in some of the other aspects against other same blogs.

●      Do read and follow their guidelines

Before heading on with your blog for any other site, do check and go through with all their guidelines, rules, and criterion they require to be fulfilled by you in your post. Many sites have their own set of norms that is to be followed when guest posting. So check them, and if you find it under your comfort zone, go with it.

●      Do write on your area of expertise

Do not just randomly select any site and any niche to write upon. You must consider your interest area and figure out what is best that you can provide your readers. If you go against your will, the chances are high that you create plagiarized and non-worthy content with high risks of being rejected. Write in your expert area, provide something new to your readers.

●      Do write a strong title

Your title must be strong enough to create a hard impact on the viewers. It should be such that it holds on to the attention of the site owner and the readers, without compromising the content. A strong title helps in hooking the reader to go through further.

DON’Ts

●      Don’t write already existing content

Make sure what you’re writing is unique and never discussed before on any of the blog sites. Competition is tough, and there are many other sites that offer the same niche. What can you add extra to that already existing knowledge, is what we need? Not the content that already exists.

●      Don’t submit your post without investigating

Yet another important step before submitting your guest post is the investigation. Investigate your validity and worthiness by referring to their guidelines and make sure your work is not available anywhere else, or this can create a serious plagiarism issue.

●      Don’t link unrelated kinds of stuff

Yes, backlinks are a crucial part of guest blogging, but introducing a number of links in the first para itself, creates a dull impression of your work. Only link stuff that is relatable and necessary. If you do not find one, then you don’t need to link one.

●      Don’t send the same work to many sites

We understand you desperately want to publish your post in any of the guest sites. But sending the same guest post to a number of sites doesn’t help instead only create high chances of getting into trouble. If more than one site decides to post your blog, it may generate plagiarism, and no one would work like that.

●      Don’t demand your submission

No matter how many times you get rejected or encounter failure, you must not demand your submission to them via emails or messages. This becomes cheap, and the host site tends to reject your work even before it makes entry to the market.
