Cer Congratulates Chief Rabbi Of Poland

The Conference of European Rabbis welcomes the news that the Polish Jewish community have appointed Rabbi Michael Schudrich as their Chief Rabbi.  The position has been vacant for some five years, and it was therefore so very important that this appointment be made.  There are many issues that need to be addressed in Poland, not least of which are the hundreds of Jewish cemeteries that exist throughout the country, and which need to be preserved.  There is also a growing community in Poland that is in need of a spiritual leader, and it is therefore that the CER has expressed its delight that Rabbi Schudrich has now taken up this position.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Rabbi, Cllr A Dunner, Executive Director of the CER, thanked him for his past co-operation and pledged the full support of the CER to the Chief Rabbi for all his projects in Poland where he might need their help.
